My New Home

Hello All,
I have been MIA recently but is only because I am having such a blast in my new home of VIlcabamba.  Vilcabamba is a little town near the Peruvian border and the best way to describe it is heaven.  The weather?  Perfect.  The people?  Kind, fun, and interesting.  The view from my new bedroom?  To die for.  I will be writing more soon, I promise but now I need to get to work!

Hiking Adventures

Really pretty moss  growing on a fence post

Heart of Darkness

Starting off on our hike

Everything is SO BIG

Into the underbrush we go

Never ending forest

I fell down

My other boot is still firmly lodged in the mud

I decided it would be a good idea to pretend to lick my boot

It was not... I wound up actually licking it by mistake

Wilfredo had to help me get my boot out

Bread and Bananas!

Our classy transport

We fed our banana peels to a pig on the side of the road

This was a horse that was very upset about having to get out of the road for us

An interesting house on the side of the road

The road gets smaller

The CUTEST piglets ever were just snuggling on the side of the road

A church

The road gets even smaller and has a river running across it

Crossing the river

The road gets even smaller

At the ranch house Seb is wearing a local traditional mask

Pre Colombian grinding stone.  There are at least one hundred of these around the ranch
